LONDON NETWORK FOR NURSES AND MIDWIVES

Welcome to the LONDON NETWORK FOR NURSES AND MIDWIVES. This website will inform you as to the work of the London Network for Nurses and Midwives and its working groups.

The London Network for Nurses and Midwives was created in 1999 by the current Chief Nursing Officer, Professor Christine Beasley, when she was Regional Director of Nursing for London (it was formally known as The London Standing Conference).

It provide a means by which front line nurses and midwives could influence the development of health policy in London. It is funded by a fixed subscription from all Trusts and education providers in London, which is used to support the activities of the network and fund a project manager.

With the establishment of the new London Strategic Health Authority, the Network has been working to maintain and develop close working relationship with NHS London. From the 31st January 2007 the project manager has been based at the new London Strategic Health Authority in Victoria supported by the chair of the London Network and the Chief Nurse for London, whilst Ealing PCT continue to host the financial arrangements for the Network.
